New gas sphere in Papeete – TLC supports a key energy investment

Expansion of gas infrastructure in French Polynesia

To meet growing energy needs and improve supply stability, a new LPG gas sphere is under construction in Papeete, on Tahiti Island. The investment will increase the region’s gas storage capacity by 50% and significantly improve the safety and efficiency of energy distribution. The new tank, over twice the size of the existing one, is a strategic component of French Polynesia’s energy infrastructure modernization.

TLC’s contribution to the project

TLC is supplying an access system and steel helicoidal stairs for this investment, ensuring safe operation of the new installation. The high-quality steel and anti-corrosion protection in the form of hot-dip galvanization guarantee the durability of the structure and resistance to demanding operating conditions.

Cooperation with our client, international reference in boilermaking – structural solution for LPG tank access

In cooperation with TISSOT Industrie, we designed a 23.7-meter-high steel helicoidal staircase, the key element of which is the steel stairs provided by TLC. The client was responsible for manufacturing the steel casing (pylon), an integral part of the entire structure. Additionally, a support structure was installed on the stairs connecting the pylon to the upper platform to support the tank pipelines, ensuring the stability and safety of the entire installation.
