Industrial access platforms EXC3 for process separators – steel multi-level system in Veracruz

Industrial access platforms EXC3 for process separators – steel multi-level system in Veracruz

Project: C7205
Execution class: EXC3

Safe technological platform for process equipment – regulatory and environmental requirements

Modern industrial installations require access solutions that combine user safety high structural load-bearing capacity and compliance with strict standards. Technological platforms intended for servicing separators and process equipment must ensure:

  • stable access at various levels of the installation
  • precise geometric alignment with technological infrastructure
  • resistance to environmental conditions
  • structural durability under permanent and variable loads.

Project C7205 included the design and fabrication of three complementary platform systems:

  • Platform separators / trampas
  • Platform CCT
  • Platform VACIO

Each structure was developed as an integral technological access system in execution class EXC3 intended for load-bearing structures of increased importance operating under permanent and variable loads with full consideration of the requirements of the following standards:

  • EN 1090-2 which specifies the requirements for the execution quality control and erection of steel structures
  • EN 1993-1-1 which defines the principles for their design dimensioning and assessment of load-bearing capacity and stability.

TLC scope of works – design and fabrication of steel structures in execution class EXC3

The implementation of C7205 included the development of steel structures working platforms stair systems and protective railings in accordance with detailed design documentation and applicable standards.

The project was executed in execution class EXC3 in accordance with EN 1090-2 which implies increased quality and inspection requirements for structures of higher responsibility. Execution class EXC3 is applied to structures subjected to dynamic loads or where potential failure could result in significant safety consequences. It therefore requires among others extended weld inspection qualified welding procedures and strict production supervision.

All components were designed with consideration for environmental protection requirements and sustainable development principles.

Technical solutions – multi-level industrial access system

The project included three complementary technological platforms designed as
multi-level access systems for process equipment.

Platform separators / trampas – hot-dip galvanized industrial access platform

Each structure was designed as a self-supporting steel system integrated with staircases working landings and protective railings. Welded gratings were provided with contrast marking on the first and last step.

The structures were protected by hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with ISO 1461 ensuring durability in industrial environments. The platforms were designed in compliance with EN ISO 14122 load requirements while maintaining operational parameters and user safety.

The system forms a coherent technological access structure enabling safe operation of equipment at various installation levels and stable structural performance under industrial conditions.

Project details:

Height: 6840 mm
Protection:
Main structure – hot-dip galvanized 100 µm
Railings – hot-dip galvanized 100 µm
Construction: Steel structure designed in execution class EXC3 (EN 1090-2)

Platform CCT – multi-level EXC3 steel structure

The CCT platform was designed as a multi-level steel structure in execution class EXC3 in accordance with EN 1090-2 which entails increased requirements in terms of workmanship quality welding inspection and technical documentation.

The layout includes staircases intermediate landings and working platforms integrated into one stable load-bearing system designed to operate under service loads in compliance with EN ISO 14122.

An important element of the project was the refinement of structural details in revision C including modification of the balustrade profile and the introduction of mounting holes for installation devices allowing precise adaptation of the platform to the technological infrastructure.

The CCT platform represents a structure of increased responsibility designed in accordance with strict EXC3 requirements and operational safety standards for industrial environments.

Project details:

Height: 6465 mm
Steps: 1500 × 284 mm
Grating: GFK-K 550-25-5 Lichtgitter
Protection: Steps and gratings – hot-dip galvanized according to ISO 1461
Main structure railings ladder and safety cage – hot-dip galvanized according to ISO 1461
Construction: Steel structure designed in execution class EXC3

Platform VACIO – compact industrial access platform EXC3

The VACIO platform was designed as a self-supporting steel system integrated with staircases a working platform and protective railings.

The structure has a total height of 2450 mm a length of 5252 mm and a width of 3867 mm. Stairs measuring 1200 × 255 mm lead to a platform measuring 5124 × 3730 mm. Steps and landings were manufactured from 33 × 33 gratings with contrast marking of the first and last step in RAL 9005. Steps and gratings were protected by hot-dip galvanizing according to ISO 1461 while the main structure and railings were coated with an epoxy primer in grey.

Project details:

Height: 2450 mm
Steps: 1200 × 255 mm
Balustrades: children-safe vertical round bars Ø12
Protection: Steps and gratings – hot-dip galvanized according to ISO 1461
Main structure and railings – epoxy primer grey
Construction: Steel structure designed in execution class EXC3

The VACIO platform represents a compact precisely adapted technological access solution designed for operation in industrial environments while maintaining compliance with standards and high structural durability.

Project C7205 constitutes a comprehensive multi-level industrial platform system. The implementation confirms TLC’s competence in the design and fabrication of steel structures of increased responsibility intended for servicing process infrastructure.
